Colibri

Turning around an outdated lighter business into a full range men’s accessories brand.

Colibri established its reputation as a pioneering lighter brand. Founded in 1928, the business grew into a global brand. The brief was to turn the outdated business into a full-range accessory brand with target markets within the US and Europe.

I was closely involved with each step of the design process and brand development. The logo was refreshed, without losing its character and links to the past.

A new way of targeting three distinct customer groups was developed, opening Colibri's market to an entirely new audience. The Classic, Design and Technical Series, each with their own distinct style and colour palette.

Colibri, inspired by 1920s elegance, honours founder Julius Lowenthal with a rich brand story and archival gems showcased in a mini brochure. Their accessories blend engineering excellence with modern sophistication, exuding timeless style and confidence. The new Hummingbird logo's clean, angular lines are reflected in the sleek packaging design.
